3. What is your favourite kind of weather?
4. Tell me all about your perfect fall day: where do you go? Who are you with? What do you eat? Extra points for detail (although I don’t know what you’ll do with those points.)

6. Dedicate a song to someone!

4. Perfect fall day is a walk along the Kelowna Greenaway. Mission creek that runs form the mountains into Okanagan Lake. Can take the whole family and just relax. Kick up the leaves watch the Salmon run, listen to people enjoying the last warmth of the sun. Dogs playing Frisbee with their masters barking at them for them to pay attention and release the Frisbee for the 101 time. Dogs never get bored.

2. Hang out with Ed. And also, do something on my own.
3. SNOW!
4. It was this weekend. In a canoe. Yes, it was cold. But the leaves were beautiful, and I was with a group of my friends in the middle of nowhere, on a small river, all bundled up, and trying desperately not to tip. And it was followed by campfire and lots of silliness.
5. The scarf my friend/ex-roommate Cate bought me from a flea market in France.

Questions are answered on my blog. :)

1. Blog reading and commenting. My comments often end up as mini-posts (no doubt to the annoyance of the original blogger)…and take about as much time to write. But I love the exposure to new ideas and to being made to think hard about what I believe to be true.
2. Two pieces of dark chocolate after lunch. Every day. Unless its salted caramels, like it was today.
3. Crisp and cool, low- to mid-60s. Slight wind. Bright blue sky, minimal clouds. Dry leaves rustling.
4. See number 3. ;) I love walking all over the city (Boston) on a day like that. From my house in the North End, through Faneuil Hall, to Downtown Crossing, across the Common and through the Public Garden, up Newbury Street (stopping for decaf Earl Grey and a sandwich and salad combo at Tealuxe), and on to Fenway–’cause if it’s October and I’m going to Fenway, then the Sox are likely in the postseason. ;)
5. My wedding dress. Only worn once. Never will wear it again. But it’s purty, and associated with one of the best days of my life.
6. “Goodnight, My Someone,” for my son Thomas, to whom I sing it every night.

1. “Daisy-chaining weird Wikipedia entries” pretty much sums it up. Usually they’re about obscure bands of old-timey crimes. Weird, yes.
2. Make sure I DON’T make plans at least one weeknight, so that I can come home, watch TV, blog, surf Facebook, eat mac & cheese, do nothing at all.
3. Autumn! Crisp but not cold. A little dark, but not rainy.
4. Brunch anywhere - my friends and I just started a Brunch Tour! There should be breakfast potatoes involved. Maybe a bookstore afterwards. And… God, I don’t know what else. I’m wearing boots, though, and I’m with friends, and no umbrellas are needed.
5. My new (free!) GAP skinny jeans. I don’t know how a fat girl looks good in skinny jeans, but these are apparently a miracle of some sort.
6. I saw Hanson in concert last night! Called an old childhood friend during “Where’s the Love?”

6. Save Tonight - Eagle-Eye Cherry (to a dude I knew a long time ago)

3. Mid-60s, brisk, comfortable - the kind of weather that makes me stop and appreciate the outdoors.
4. Apple picking with apple cider donuts and a brisk walk with a girlfriend. Home to Jeff for apple pie and chicken pot pie and rd red wine.
5. A scarf given to me by my grandmother for the last Christmas she spent on this living earth. I’m not telling you which one it is so you can’t take it when you move to Boston.
6. Bittersweet by Big Head Todd and the Monsters dedicated to moi.

I have on a sweater and boots, because it is finally cool enough to wear a sweater and boots! My friend carries his guitar, and when we come to a clearing, he plays me some folk tunes. Then we get out the picnic basket, and have a simple meal and share a bottle of red wine. We lie back and contemplate the clouds and various other things. (Oh, how lovely!)
