And yes, butterflies are pretty ugly when you look at their head and not their wings.

Congrats to the old man and his lovely bride (and little Zacharie!). I’m sorry I couldn’t make it, but I’m glad to see everything went off perfectly and everyone had a good time (near-death-by-butterfly incident notwithstanding).

If it’s any consolation, the butterflies won’t live that long.

Meg – I totally hear you on the butterfly thing. I’m reading this at work and have had to bite my lip to keep from laughing because this is the EXACT reaction I would have had to being that close to a butterfly too.
I’ve had to squelch (is that a word?) my natural reaction to butterflies and insects for the sake of my daughter – I don’t want to negatively influence her.

Lovely! Butterfly releases freak me out too, but they aren’t as bad as dove releases, when your guests could possibly be pooed on.

Also, my best friend is named Jen and her husband is named Buzz. Crazy!

I knew a girl in London who had a genuine phobia of butterflies. Like full on panic attacks every time she saw one, and mild ones just at seeing a PICTURE of one. She would have died at this wedding, LOL. But I like the sentiment!!
