no excuses. well, some. but they are good.

I’ve been quiet on and off for ages, haven’t I?

If you’ve been reading my babbling here for a while — and thank you, if you’re that patient — it probably seems surprising to you that I can go many moons without saying much at the old MF.com these days.

After all, I used to say something pretty much every day.

And now? Well, between work, freelance stuff and a certain boy, I’m full to the gills.

It’s not that I have nothing to talk about or write about, mind you. I just have too MUCH to say, and not enough time or energy to really SAY it.

But. That’s not much of an excuse.

Here’s an update:

Gradon (also, and more properly, here) was here from Monday to Sunday of last week. We spent many hours hugging, walking about in the Vancouver snow (!), eating yummy treats, and making one another laugh.

I’ll write about it more (and show you pictures!)… but not right now.

Right now, I’m tired as all get out, and he is fast asleep in his bed in Charlestown, having taken the better part of two days and a zillion airports to get home in this crazy weather. Without his luggage.

What I will tell you tonight?

It is magical to introduce someone you love to other people you love, and see that they just might love him too, in time.

It is crazy to be searching ardently for seat sales so you don’t have to wait another two months to do it again.

It is amazing to see a future before you where exactly who you are right now is the only person you need to be to make someone else very happy.

It is lovely to be in love. Which I am.

And it is a positively crazy thing to say that here, but there you go.

Everything changes.

Even in my life, after two years and more of tripping over things and consuming too much caffeine and obsessing over product and mooning over babies and writing love lists.

I’m exhausted and stressed, but I’m blessed.

It’s quite something to fall asleep smiling.

  1. I am sorry if I am excessive, but I think U2 is a beautiful thing in a VERY public space. I do not know the history of this space, you or you in it – except you are a “pioneer” in it IMHO and yet I can reach out and “touch” you (sort of). I find that profound and personal. Anyway, no diagrams tonight and no design: “Hello”.

  2. Good Morning Meg,
I don’t see you often so I want to let you know that I am very happy for you. Have a great holiday season and I hope you find some really great flight deals:)

  3. Meg, I’ve never really commented here before, but felt compelled to say that as a long time reader, I am very very happy for you! Have a lovely christmas with a warm heart!

  4. So happy for you two lovebirds. Glad you had a nice holiday visit, albeit short. Hopefully it won’t be long before you don’t have to look for seat sales! x

Merry Christmas, Meg. Got a lot of love for ya. :)

  5. I’m so happy for you. You deserve the best and it sounds like he just might be close!
    Chris

  6. I’m not surprised at all about the missing luggage if Gradon was traveling to or through the airport in Boston…oh the (bad!) memories. Also, my husband’s parents caught a really cheap red-eye from Seattle to Boston some months ago…..I can’t remember which airline though. Either way, best of luck find a cheap flight there (soon!).

  7. What better reason for not blogging is there than hugging, walking, eating and laughing?

I had a great week in Vancouver. I can’t wait until our time together/apart is reversed!
