friday love list: november rain edition

We had the most GOOOOOORGEOUS Thursday in Vancouver yesterday. GOOOOOORGEOUS.

Sunny, windy, cool… the perfect fall day.

And though it has not yet rained today, it will. Oh, it will. And then it will for a few more days. It will soak my pant hems and saturate my coat and dodge my umbrella and squish into my shoes and frizz up my hair and WHEN WILL IT END MUST I DROWN BEFORE YOU ARE DONE?

That’s okay.

I can make it through the rain because I HAVE LOVE.

And if that’s not a song Barry Manilow wishes he’d written then I don’t know what is.

THINGS I LOVE

Red cups
My new red jacket
Wearing red lipstick
Putting the word “red” in sentences
Sleeping in
Seattle’s downtown core
Bangs
Laughing until you can’t breathe
Frozen grapes
Handel’s Messiah
Denim skirts
Forgiveness
Threading
Our Christmas tree
Pink sharpies
Cheap tank tops from Old Navy in 40,000 colours (my staple)
Ballet flats
Vitamin D
Ridiculous dad puns
The Canucks on a roll
Crisp fall days with deliciously periwinkle skies
Cafe au lait
Catching yourself BEFORE you trip
Ironic spelling mistakes
Pomegranates
Spoon (the band, not the utensil… although, who doesn’t love a spoon, dammit?)
Fresh sourdough bread
Heart to Heart
Working with people who inspire you
Macadamia nuts
Caroling around your house
A sentence so good it makes you tingle
Showers before bed
Green apples
Cinnamon simmering on the stove
Interpretive dance while working
My mom and dad and their example in so many ways
Tall, cold glasses of milk
Giant, silly cocktail rings
You
You know who:

And you? Please share your own love lists in the comments below…
