i’m alive, i swear it.

I know, I know. I’ve been terrible.
I won’t make any excuses, though, because excuses don’t write posts.
How are you all?
How are the kids?
How is the job?
Any news?
Me? Oh, nothing special.
OH!
Except for the fact that I’m in Boston. There is that little detail.
But I’ll fill you in more on the whys and the whats there tomorrow.
I will say that I have seen Beacon Hill and Harvard and MIT and Charlestown and the Back Bay and other places I can’t remember the names of, and let me tell you:
I LOVE IT HERE.
IT’S GORGEOUS.
The buildings and the streets give me absolute zip! zip! zip! violin sounds deep in my heart.
Everyone always told me I’d dig the East Coast, and lemme tell you… they were right, in SO many ways.
BUT!
Some photos until tomorrow…

What, no pictures of Cheers?
October 7th, 2008 at 2:27 pm
I expect DETAILS on you and Mr. Tripp. Because I’m nosy like that.
October 7th, 2008 at 2:43 pm
Henceforth, you shall be known to me only as Fowlah ;)
October 7th, 2008 at 3:07 pm
Boston is such a beautiful city! One day I hope to get there…
October 7th, 2008 at 3:15 pm
THANK GOD!!! I was really beginning to worry. I will sleep tonight.
Welcome to the East Coast and enjoy!
October 7th, 2008 at 3:47 pm
WHO’S THIS MR. TRIPP GUY???????
October 7th, 2008 at 3:51 pm
Damn girl, you got around. ;)
October 7th, 2008 at 4:03 pm
Last thing I knew you were lamenting not being at gathering on Friday night and here you are in Boston! Spontaneous trips are the best!
October 7th, 2008 at 5:19 pm
Hey! You’re in my city! Hope you’re having fun!
October 7th, 2008 at 6:19 pm
Very nice photos! Don’t you find that walking around an eastern city conveys a sense of historical depth that we don’t have in our shining left coast cities? Not a value judgment, really, it’s just something that always strikes me, even in a midwestern city like Milwaukee or Chicago.
Enjoy!

If there’s anything TO know about Mr Tripp, I’LL know it FIRST!!!
October 7th, 2008 at 11:12 pm
Yay, good to see you back and hopefully with a mouthful of chowdah …
October 8th, 2008 at 4:38 am
So glad you are enjoying Boston. I take advantage of the fact that I live here sometimes, and when someone visits and sees all of the beauty, it makes me appreciate it all over again.
October 8th, 2008 at 6:05 am
Ah, the east coast is beautiful isn’t it?? Enjoy your trip :)
October 8th, 2008 at 11:37 am
I’ve always wanted to visit Boston. I’m glad you’re loving it!
October 8th, 2008 at 7:14 pm
Meg, make sure you get to the North End too for some Little Italy flava. Anywhere on Hanover street will do.
That second pic looks like John Kerry’s house on Lewisburg Square, if I’m remembering right.
Boston rocks, but you can absolutely skip going to Cheers…
October 8th, 2008 at 7:39 pm
Looking forward to hearing more about your tripp…
October 8th, 2008 at 7:55 pm
I’m waiting for the headline of your next post to read :
“Fowlah tried chowdah near the Back Bay Harbah”
Glad you are having a splendiferous time.
October 9th, 2008 at 8:32 am
Who’s that Trippy guy lurking and what has he done with Meg Fowler and her Friday Love lists?!
I can hear the zips of that violin from here and I don’t think it’s all from the awe of the buildings and streets ;)
October 9th, 2008 at 9:11 pm
I LOVE Boston, I found it to be the prettiest of all the American cities I’ve been to. I love the purple glass and the tiny Cheers bar!
October 9th, 2008 at 9:54 pm
Boston is a beautiful city. I always make sure I go to Boston whenever I’m in Montreal or New York. Have fun out there :)
October 10th, 2008 at 10:55 pm
So glad you’re enjoying Boston. I had the grand tour last Summer after my cousin’s Harvard graduation. I could have stayed MUCH longer. So much to see and do.
October 13th, 2008 at 5:35 am
tomorrow has come and gone.
you’re leaving us hanging.
happy thanksgiving. :)
October 13th, 2008 at 10:32 am
I can’t think of a worse time in history to be in the United States–unless, of course, you’re Canadian. And of course Boston is a nice place (to visit).
Hop on that Amtrak to NYC for a compare and contrast.
October 13th, 2008 at 11:29 am
Happy Thanksgiving….eh?
October 13th, 2008 at 5:03 pm
You said you were still alive and would give us details, and you didn’t. WHERE IS MEG AND WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH HER? I’m calling the Mounties.
October 14th, 2008 at 9:11 am
One FEBRUARY I tried to walk the Freedom Trail in the snow…didn’t last long after I passed a pub. I do love the city though.

I just responded to one of your tweets, and then I dropped by the site to see if there were any new developments that you weren’t talking about.
Apparently there are, you wiley minx.
Or maybe you’re fooling us all.
Blast.
October 16th, 2008 at 7:58 pm
