  6. Well, I don’t a love-list drawn up yet, but based on one of your entries I can give you a Word-Of-The-Day! The entry is “Yawny stretches” and the word is “pandiculate”! Love the sound of that word! Hmmm.. I guess that’s the beginning of my love-list, the sound of the word “pandiculate”! I think it’s because it sounds like I’m getting away with something naughty in public.

  11. These are simple, but they’re so real to me:

*my son’s giggles. He’s almost 9, but he still giggles; particularly when tickled, mercilessly
    *my daughter’s smile
*the sound of my motorcycle fully warmed-up, climbing a long grade. Power. A little bit, at least. ;)
*the weightless rush of adrenaline in free-fall
*springtime in the midwest. I can still smell it
*red wine, bread, and cheese; anywhere in France
    *watching my children sleep

    *pecan pie
*an ice cold, frosty mug, rootbeer float
*talking with my son, seeing where his mind wanders/connects things
*Having a good debate; with passion and fact, sans hysterical emotion
*that moment when you “get it”; whatever “it” is (not material things, but concepts)
    *a meal not rushed
    *anything, not rushed

That’ll do for now. There’s more, of course.

the smell of rain on asphalt
    standing in warm rain
thunder storms – lightning is an added bonus
a Jarlsberg cheese and lemon curd sandwich (weird, huh?)
a cold pineapple ring between two slices of toast (weirder?)
good manners/basic courtesies – you know, the seemingly long-lost please and thank you of a bygone era…
long, slow kisses on a lazy weekend morning
    babies laughing

  14. * Sitting someplace quiet enough that you can hear the baby birds in the trees cheeping when mama brings them a worm.

    * My friends’ taste in cool music I’ve never heard or long ago forgotten.

    * The moment in a song when a really good band decides to drop all pretence and just kick some ass.

    * A glass of house red with a good Italian lunch.

    * Kids’ giggles.

(Amen to, inter alia, cafe au lait and freckles.)
