can we give up rain for lent?

Oh, it’s a rainin’. And it’s gonna rain for DAYS.
And DAYS.
And DAYS.
The worst part? No one can assure me it will EVER STOP.
Least of all the weather people in Vancouver, who have a thankless, humiliating job akin to being a stand-up comic with NO MATERIAL.
So, in order to get through these days of wet ankles and fluffy hair and SuperGulp puddles, I propose we go somewhere else.
Mentally.
It’s the ultimate Economy Class.
So close your eyes (well, you can open them to type, if you want) and put yourself wherever you want to be…

1. Anywhere warm. What you’re getting in rain, we’re getting in snow.
2. I always wanted to stay in one of those bungalows on stilts above the water with a glass bottom.
3. Laying on the beach being warm and generally not seeing snow.
4. Eating, drinking, and relaxing.
5. Walking.
6. Sushi sounds like it would go well with the beach. Or hey, Greek food! Because my beach destination could be the Greek Isles. Yes, I like that idea.
7. The boyfriend comes to mind first, but it would also be really fun to meet up for a vacation with girlfriends who live far away from me.

1. Honolulu
2. Any hotel that’s near the beach. My family has a timeshare, so we’re always in the same place. It would be nice to be at a fancier hotel, like the Hilton, though!
3. Tanning, reading, walking, swimming, just relaxing. Maybe taking a drive out to a more secluded beach to get away from all the crowds of people in Waikiki.
4. Dinner at a nice restaurant, walking along the beach, going to a bar for drinks & karaoke or whatever else comes up.
5. Walking is great!
6. Anything and everything. My favourite restaurant there serves mainly Hawaiian food, and it is phenomenal.
7. Family and friends.
