choose ye: winter is coming! edition

Filed under: either or — meg @ 11:16 am

Well, okay, for some of you, winter might already be here. And we all do different holiday things. But…

Snow or rain for your winter weather?

Ski or skate?

Hot cider or hot chocolate?

Exercise outside or inside?

Gas fireplace or real?

Mountains or prairie for the winter scene?

Snowy city or snowy country?

Underdress or overdress for the cold?

Mittens or gloves?

Real tree or fake tree?

White lights or coloured lights?

Wool or cashmere?

Intimate parties or big bashes?

Shovel or blow the snow?

Palm trees or pine trees?

  11. Superfantastic Says:

Snow or rain for your winter weather? I’m back in the North so there will be snow whether I like it or not. I will like it for roughly two weeks.

Ski or skate? Skate. But only on hockey skates because my ankles are too wimpy to stand up in figure skates.

Hot cider or hot chocolate? Hot chocolate

Exercise outside or inside? Preferably outside, but that depends on how icy it is.

    Gas fireplace or real? Real.

Mountains or prairie for the winter scene? Mountains, please as long as I’m not driving.

Snowy city or snowy country? Snowy city.

Underdress or overdress for the cold? Overdress. People laugh at me, but I don’t care. I hate to be cold.

Mittens or gloves? Mittens. So much warmer.

Real tree or fake tree? Real.

White lights or coloured lights? I’m not picky as long as they don’t blink.

    Wool or cashmere? Ooh, cashmere.

Intimate parties or big bashes? Intimate parties.

Shovel or blow the snow? Rent and avoid the dilemma, although you are reminding me that I need to get a shovel for my car.

Palm trees or pine trees? Pine trees.

  12. RandomGirl Says:

Neither really here in CA. I miss the snow though.

I love to ski, snowboard and iceskate!

Hot cider is wonderfully filling, but I just bought Trader Joes specialty hot cocoa mix.

    Exercise? why?

No fireplace, but I love the smell of real ones.

I’m really in neither, desert i guess. I love the mountains though and the image of little house on the prairie in the snow.

I guess US is a snowy country. LA is certainly not a snowy city.

overdress. I keep having to remind myself that I was in Pittsburgh not to long ago.

    Mittens

No tree- three hanukkah menorahs though… and maybe a real wreath for the smell….

    White lights- without a doubt!

Cashmere for sweaters, wool for coats.

Both. Hanukkah intimate, New Years big. X-mas…who knows.

No snow here. But make snow angels.

I live in Palm trees, but dream in pine.

I want to know about the last question… I feel jiped….

    White lights-ALWAYS

    Cashmere

    Intimate parties

    Shovel the snow

Palm trees this year baby…my hubby bought me a Caribbean Cruise for Christmas! HURRAY!

Is “I rent and the landlord does it” acceptable?

    Pine

  16. Kat Says:

Snow or rain for your winter weather? SNOW - but in Vancouver, where the majority of people seem to NOT know what snow tires are, rain, so I can actually get home from work.

Ski or skate? Neither - I suck at both

Hot cider or hot chocolate? Hot Chocolate

Exercise outside or inside? Exercise?? HA HA…Both - I love walking when it’s really crisp outside, it’s invigorating

Gas fireplace or real? I would take either b/c my apt. has neither. I love a real fire, love the smell and the crackle, but to be “green” a gas one will do (my mom has one)

Mountains or prairie for the winter scene? Mountains definitely.

Snowy city or snowy country? Ohhhh both!

Underdress or overdress for the cold? Underdress so I can add more layers.

Mittens or gloves? Those half/half ones so I’m still dextrous enough to open/close the zipper on my coat - otherwise mittens.

Real tree or fake tree? Fake tree only b/c I’m allergic to real ones - I used to love picking out the least “Charlie Brown” tree on the lot. However, my fake trees (yes treeS) are all a little bit imperfect.

White lights or coloured lights? Both (my “big girl” tree has white, my other ones have coloured)

Wool or cashmere? Neither, I’m too freaking hot all the time.

Intimate parties or big bashes? Both

Shovel or blow the snow? Shovel

Palm trees or pine trees? Hmmm….both

  19. Richgold Says:

Snow and lots of it. I was an good, old fashioned Maritime winter please!
Ski - cross country. I abhor falling.
    Hot chocolate - I’m a traditionalist
    Exercise outside
Real fireplace please - though we don’t have one. I HAVE stumbled across the Fireplace Channel on the dish though. Kind of funny. I didn’t sit and watch, but sit and listened. I wonder if I could find a CD of a crackling fire place …
Neither mountains or prairie - valley with lots of trees.
    Snowy city
    Overdress for the cold
    Mittens
Real tree or fake tree - well that’s the debate in my house. I like a real tree. DH wants a fake - easier to put up and take down. Cheaper. We have kids, but they’re less interested in dealing with the tree and I have almost no interest … too much work to chase the cats away from the tinsel.
    White lights
Cotton - can’t do wool or cashmere
    Intimate parties
    Shovel the snow
    Pine trees all the way
