Heh. Er, what’d he put up with before the pre-season? I missed that story entirely.
Good for you to go Ugg-less!
I _just_ bought Women’s Weatherfield Shoes (http://www.landsend.com/pp/WeatherfieldShoes-74284_149586_-1.html?CM_MERCH=PAGE_74284) from Land’s End (in Canada! Sears’ in Canada have a department of them now!)
I wore them around in the cooler, wetter weather we had this weekend. They were light weight and kept my feet warmer then my sneakers have. And my mother didn’t find anything about them to criticize! Wooo hoo!
cold fx is ridonkulously expensive. its a preventative thing too .. you have to be taking it BEFORE you get sick, so you dont GET sick.
does nothing once you get all ticklish.
Damn you, Messier… you tried to lead me astray again!
Thanks, Mr. B.

That’s my coverage, Darren. :-)
C’mon, remaining unsigned until late in the summer? That constitutes crap? It’s exceptionally common in the hockey world, and Linden (having been active in the players’ union) would be totally familiar with the business end of the sport.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m a huge Linden fan. His career coincides pretty much exactly with my affection for hockey and the Canucks. I hope he gets better, but last year he was borderline and in Saturday night’s game we was conspicuous only for his mistakes.
Nah, I’m sticking with it being an affront. Lots of things are common… doesn’t mean they’re acceptable, especially considering his clutch playoff performance, and our enduring patience with the disappointment that is M. Nas.
Actually, we’ve found Cold FX to be quite effective; take it when you feel the first stirrings of a cold nipping at your system, and either the cold will go away, or its effects will be less severe and shorter lived… As for footwear, I say again: Blundstones! Comfy and steady as I found this weekend climbing over the rocks out back of our place!
I’m way past the beginning. This thing is advancing like a staph infection.
Toooo late.
And I want stylin’ footwear I can wear out for dinner, not just athletic stuff. That’s my dilemma.
Hi Meg,
I found Tylenol Cold quite useful to treat the symptoms. Get well soon!
I’m a advocate for Cold FX as a preventative measure on airplanes–they’re just big, germ-filled tubes.
You should totally work as a travel agent.
I found Cold f/x too complicated and expensive. I use something that was published in Reader’s Digest a couple of years ago. Reasearchers found that if they stopped the cold virus from replicating, they’d head off the cold. They did this by using a combo of a long-lasting antihistamine (24hr kind) and ibuprofen, both taken as the label directs until your symptoms go away. The key is that you do this as soon as you think you might be getting sick (you know, that ‘hmmm, I think I might be coming down with something’ moment). Very effective, very easy. Plus, you don’t have to use any Don Cherry stuff.
I bought a pair of burgundy Clarks Muckers in the spring and they are extremely comfortable and waterproof. Although not perhaps as stylish as you would wish. http://www.softmoc.com/ca/systemshow-item_I74191
Feel better sooner! I posted a 3-song playlist today.
