15 things we don’t do often enough.

Filed under: stuff — meg @ 8:42 am

1. Dance in non-dancing places.

2. Juggle with fruit.

3. Read the whole paper, front to back.

4. Walk barefoot on grass.

5. Play games we loved as kids.

6. Turn the channel from the really, really stupid show.

7. Wait for the Tootsie Pop centre to emerge gracefully, rather than crunching.

8. Give someone the benefit of the doubt.

9. Buy the juice that isn’t orange.

10. Shut up at the right time.

11. Speak up at the right time.

12. Ask when we have no idea what’s going on.

13. Light candles.

14. Do the spoon-on-the-nose trick.

15. Love without expecting anything in return.

I am absoultely incapable of not chomping down on a Tootsiepop. But I’m with you on everything else. I tried white grape cherry juice this weekend, and there is no going back. And I am SO CRAZY HAPPY to be moving to a place where I can walk barefoot in grass again with no fear of fire ants. They’re almost as bad as bees.

    SO true!

I play UNO all the time at work! And it’s even more fun when I don’t have to let the kids win! But no, I can’t stop myself from biting into the Tootsie Roll Pop. I have tried! It can’t be done!

People who can’t restrain themselves from crunching into the Tootsie Roll Pop will also quickly crunch the Neco Wafers. It just means that they don’t suck!

A good game of Red Light, Green Light might be kinda fun right now or maybe Pick-Up Sticks.

Today I had a BBQ before work with friends, walked in the grass without any shoes and bared my shoulders to the sun. I also bought purple juice today! Very delicious! Life is good! oooh… I loved pick-up-sticks!!

That’s a nice list Meg, I like it. But what are we supposed to do about it? “10. Shut up at the right time” is a great thing to remember, but how are you supposed know when the right time to shut up is? Usually its only apparent after the fact, when you realize “gee, I just should have just shut up!”. And taking my cue from #10, I’m going to stop typing now.

There is a “stage” at our local Waitrose. Just after the bakery, as the wine aisle begins, the floor turns from tiled to wooden. It opens out and forms a triangle perfectly wide enough for Beth to do her thang. It has become the shopping ritual - while Mum is vacillating over which bread to buy, Beth dances, Dad watches and applauds until it’s, “Your turn now!” It’s hard to refuse a two-and-a-half year old. So, I’ve got #1 sewn up.

    Jack, I didn’t say I knew *how*… haha!

The cool thing about juggling with fruit (except maybe for oranges or other things with rinds) is that you can have a snack while you juggle…
