Absolutely beautiful! Down here in Seatlle we have about 3″ and it’s still snowing hard. I love it!
Hey Meggers! Your tiny birds are bushtits. They travel in small packs like that and make a delightful buzzing sound. Oh, and your Dad’s snow is very small beer compared to MY snow! ;-)
My parents’ yard looks much like yours. Out here in my side of the ‘burbs we are well over a foot on the ground as well.
Your dad’s got a terrific eye! What’s he shooting with?
Ashley, it seemed to be melting here near Greenlake at 10pm – I’m thinking the snow day everyone’s counting on is in jeopardy. If not, enjoy!
Phil, I’ll let him tell you in comments. And he DOES have a good eye, doesn’t he?
SANDRA! HI! And did you just say “bushtits”?
The birds are known here as kinglets – tiny, travel in packs, maybe because they’re tiny – and the camera is a digital Panasonic DMC-FZ7 Lumix, with Leica lens.
bushtits! HA! I said it again. bushtits! There’s just no shutting me up!
iSore, Kinglets are a different bird, but roughly the same size. They will have either a bit of red or a bit of yellow depending on the, um, brand. (?)
Your dad is Cutie McCuterson.
Thanks, iSore. I considered that camera because my friends at Dharma Bums do such nice things with theirs. I settled on the similar Canon S3 IS. Isn’t the zoom a terrific thing to have?
With 6 MP and 12X optical zoom (equivalent to over 400 mm) and excellent image stabilization we can all look like we know what we’re doing.
It hasn’t snowed here in Utah yet and everyone is of the mind that its enough already, just get it over with.
