and if anyone finds her heart when she leaves it there, just mail it to me. I’ll get it to her.
Well!
My esteemed director, the oft-commenting Christina, is heading to San Francisco tomorrow.
I want her to have lots of good ideas for…
- places to eat
- places to shop
- places to visit
- things to see
- etc. (I thought that needed a bullet point.)
So I’m turning to you, blogland. Give her all the ideas you can. If you know addresses, share those, too.
BRING THE COOLNESS.
(And note: she is going with her mom, so nothing Joe Francis-esque, please.)

Nob Hill.

Mama’s on Washington Square (1701 Stockton), considered by locals as the best coffee and breakfast in town. It is incredible and crowded on Sunday.
She must rent a bike and ride it over the Golden Gate Bridge into Sausalito.
If she is staying in Nob Hill, she will be overwhelmed with great restaurants. I’m trying to remember the name and location of my favorite. But it’s a moot point.
Visit City Lights Bookstore, owned by Beat poet Lawrence Ferlinghetti. Go downstairs and, especially, upstairs.
Ride calbe cars, of course, hanging off the side on the running board.
Another part of town to explore–the Mission District.
Haight Ashbury–what you’d expect. Greenwich Village hipsters and funky stuff.
You can’t loose in Frisco.

Frjtz in Hayes Valley (or there’s one in Ghiradelli square, too.. but the Hayes one is much, MUCH cooler). http://www.frjtzfries.com/
Twin Peaks is gloriously beautiful. The view at night is amazing.

If they’re still there…I’d recommend J’s Pots of Soul, 203 Octavia, in Hayes Valley for a fabulous breakfast/brunch. If they want a true S.F. experience, I’d suggest a Sunday service at Glide (330 Ellis @ Taylor, across from the Hilton…services at 9 and 11). Unlike any other church in America (I’m sure of it…but then I don’t really think of it as any sort of traditional church). Although it might be a little too S.F. for someone who’s chosen to stay on Nob Hill (if you get my drift). :)
