We’re a three month-old!

This blog has been officially live since June 8, 2006, which is when I started keepin’ stats and taking names and kicking ass.
And in that time…
- I’m now the ninth result for “Meg” on Google.com! (13 on co.uk, 7th on .ie (woohoo!), 16 on .cn (am I controversial?), 19 on .se (thanks, Liz and Sandy!), 10 on .ca, and 11 on co.au.
- Almost 40,000 page loads
- More than 30,000 visitors
- 212 posts (not including the ones I deleted!)
- 1,475 comments (not including the ones on posts I deleted)
- Countless cups of coffee
- 39,740 on Technorati (kind of low)
- 56,039 on Alexa (not bad…)
How fun is that? Thanks for reading, kids…

Obsessive stats anaylsis follows:
You get a ton of comments. A 7-1 ratio is pretty rare. I just took a lot, and I get about 4 comments for every post.
And it’s not just frequency of posting, obviously. I get a comment for every 188 visitors. You get a comment for every (roughly) 20 visitors.
When people ask me about getting more comments, I always point them to your site.

Oooh, Darren, nice!
And like my mama always told me, if you want people to talk, you should ask them questions…

I believe your Mama heard that from American Pie:
OZ: You ask them questions, and listen to what they have to say and shit.
STEVE: I dunno, man, that sounds like a lot of work.

I think the only American Pie my mom knows about is the one Don McLean sang, or one she made when they lived in Fort Worth, TX.
(She’s kinda innocent, my mom.)
I always told people I was interviewing that asking questions is the easy part. You just have to wonder. Or at least I thought it was the easy part until one of my potential staffers said,
“Yeah, but don’t you have to give a f*** to keep asking things?”
Yep.

Holy Hell woman. You just put me to massive, miserable shame. However, I get the feeling you have been doing this internet thing longer than three months and therefore probably built up a following form before. Right? Um, hello? Because I might just go cry from my own unpopularity now.
Congratulations. I really do mean it.
