  1. Oh, wow, Meg… I just thought of something only you have the capacity to do. Provide those of us who don’t have enough of them or just can’t remember them with memories. We moved a lot, too, but I really don’t remember packing or unpacking, though I do remember some of the car rides.

    One of my sisters lost a Raggedy Ann doll out the car window on a trip from (I think) South Dakota to Florida, but our dad wouldn’t (or maybe just really couldn’t) stop and go back for it. As an adult, she has collected a large and varied assortment of the dolls.

    I’d settle for the missing memories.

  2. Ha! I laugh at your remembered envy of the “big girl” purses. I had one JUST LIKE those you describe — except I decided to stand out from the crowd and get one that was gray. It was the butt-ugliest thing to ever hang from my shoulder. And it DID have a Rubik’s cube fastened to the zipper puller — even though I wasn’t a teen mom. We didn’t have so many of those at our school — we sent them all to yours. :)
