eveningbabble.
Less podcast, more meander. More kooky per square inch than your average link.
(I posted it a gazillion different ways before I settled on this link. My blog just wouldn’t play nice with Odeo. But this one works. I think.)
(That’s almost poetic.)

I’m with you on the flip flops. I wear them as long as I can before my toes begin to turn blue. then it’s time to stuff them into closed-toed shoes.

! The leaves are already turning here, it’s 9′ and drizzling… it’s autumn! And you’re going to see Cannon Beach! I’m envious…

meg, i listened to your meandering. i am curious as to why you went with odeo? you could have gone with Evoca and i could have been your personal, little tech person. serisouly though. you can upload your MP3, call in with your phone and record, or use Skype. then you just copy/paste the HTML to embed a small player right in your post. no one would leave your page or be taken to the “grey screen”. they could keep on looking at your smiling face on the sidebar! ok, so today’s pic is not so smiley….but sometimes they are! hahahahaah. looking forward to listening to more meandering!

Drew! I tried Evoca last night, but it wouldn’t play nicely with the mic on my iBook! It had tons of static and sounded slowed down. I only ended up going with Odeo when Evoca wouldn’t work. I wanted to support your job! I did! Maybe you can offer tech support?
And embedded players don’t seem to like Wordpress, actually. I’ve had problems with Odeo, Castpost, Evoca… all of them.

Meg, you might want to try a Wordprss Plug-in I’ve had some success in running called Audio Player. It’s a simple flash player, but it works well, and is color customizable as well. Here’s the url:

Hope this helps!

You sound nothing like I thought you would.
August 30th, 2006 at 4:24 pm
How did you think I would sound?!?

How fun to hear your voice! “Star action and wood smoke.”

I don’t know, I can’t really desribe what I thought your voice sounded like. I guess maybe lower? Both the imagined voice and your real voice are good thoug. Normal. Not scary.
It is cool to know how you sound though. Puts reading your stuff more into context.

Ahh! I have it! I thought you would have an accent! Like a Southern US one, for some reason.
Go figure.

That’s tough to do on the West Coast of Canada… though I can pull off a convincing accent if I need one. When talking to Americans on the phone at work.

Yeah, we ‘mericans don’t take kindly to the notion there may be people out there who don’t talk like us.
Give us the same as us or give us death.
